Uta no Prince-sama Maji Love 2000% - Op.1 and Op.2 first impressions

Animation studio A-1 Pictures and sound studio Elements Garden have done it again - they have unleashed a weapon even more powerful than the first ending sequence: the second ending sequence. Starish is very... very powerful, I mean really, after an otome has been exposed to it for the first time, it cannot be unseen and unheard anymore, and not a single otome's ovaries will be left unexploded. There is no turning back now...

In the new song, Masato says "I want you ECCHI".
Hell yeah, I bet you want, not only all my ecchi, but also all my money!!

However, the first couple of episodes were mere 'plot setup' stuff, although having served some memorable fanservice scenes, like Cecil being afraid of water (much like his cat form's nature), or the four new senpai characters appearing in a way-too-much-fabulous fashion.
In terms of plot, it's really nothing new for the regular UtaPuri fan who had already consumed the visual novels behind it all. If anything, it is refreshing to see the characters animated once again, including Saotome's sudden, hilarious entrances in the middle of an otherwise serious scene.

There's such a slew of funny faces coming from the characters,
it's impossible to watch this show without laughing at them =D

It is also notable how the animation has seemingly not improved at all, it looks like they have wasted all of their budget in the opening and ending sequences once again, because there is a notable number of "quality" faces here and there, which are amenized by the fact they are using more comical faces like these screenshots up there. I am expecting the drama to show up sooner than the first season though...

Talking about the first season, it is not enough to reuse animation as a lot of flashback scenes - the staff have also been reusing background music from the first season as well.
It's like, out of every anime I've seen previously which had a temporary break from TV, all of them came back with an entirely new score - not to speak badly of the BGM from UtaPuri's first season, because I loved those and still listen to some of the pieces a lot, however, I was expecting a brand new BGM set.

Meet "Sailor Haru", the new lunar soldier with the power of
composing songs as powerful as a million blossoms~

Even with such downsides spotted, this is sure a fine trap for all the wild otome out there, I almost feel sorry for our race being severely dominated by Starish merchandise eating away our wallets flooding our houses every passing month... Avoid watching this, srsly, there is no turning back, I have already admitted falling for this, and don't say I didn't warn you! XD
